Gardening at Gretchen’s
Inspired by the Fab day we had at the Project Angel Food garden and Figaro Bistrot, Gretchen decided to do some additional gardening in the area behind her Jacuzzi, so we stopped at Home Depot to get some flowers, soil and mulch. They have a nice variety of garden supplies, and we were able to grab a couple vibrant pink Bougainvillea plants, some gorgeous blue Delphiniums, and some small white flowers that will eventually drape over her wall. We also grabbed a bag of EarthGro brown mulch/wood chips and several smaller bags of Miracle-Gro which were on sale for just $2 each.
Once we finished shopping, we headed up to Gretchen’s and got to work. Gretchen laid out the flowers where she wanted them, then I started digging. Wholly Crap! I didn’t realize was just how deep rooted the area was with ivy. I mean, I knew the ivy was there, but I didn’t know it had such strong thick roots that were a bitch to cut thru. I persevered though, and was able to dig out enough holes for the Bougainvillea and Delphiniums. I left the white flowers for the gardeners.
Then, for all my hard work, Gretchen made us a Fab dinner, and after my belly was full, I headed home for a hot bath and some much needed rest.
