Van Dyke Parks

How cute is this man??!!  I remember meeting him years ago during a Rolling Stones concert (1989?), and I remember my mom’s great affection for him, so it was a pleasure running into him again at the presentation of “Barbara and Stanley: A Modern Romance” at the NeueHouse Screening Room.

Mom met him years ago when I was a child thru my father, Gary Kellgren who was a recording engineer/producer and the co-founder of the Record Plant Recording Studios. My father unfortunately passed away when I was seven, so it’s always nice to meet people who knew him and whom my mom has spoken fondly of, and Van Dyke is one of those people. Even better when I get get some great stories to fill in the gaps.

Anyway, Van Dyke was a doll; vibrant, funny and a delight to see.  I look forward to seeing him again with mom when she comes out in May.
