Honolulu, Hawaii

DAY 6: JULY 7, 2023
Today we took a walk around the neighborhood and spotted this mamma duck and her 9 ducklings at the Royal Hawaiian Center (one is hiding).
Afterwards, we hit the road, hoping to check out the northeast side of the island. That was kinda the one area we hadn’t hit yet. We had our tickets for Jurassic Park later, so we were sticking to that side of the island.
Needless to say, it’s beautiful up here, but there’s not much here to see. Very rural.
Hawaiian Monk Seal
We, actually Lisa, saw a seal out of the corner of her eye so she hung a u-ey and parked on the side of the gigantic mountain near Kualoa Beach. I believe it’s a Hawaiian Monk Seal which is protected, like the turtles.

We continued on to try to find Crouching Tiger, but had no luck in either direction. Apparently, it’s a hike with a monument that we couldn’t see from the road.
La’ielohelohe Beach
We then found our was to La’ieloheohe Beach. (Don’t worry, I can’t pronounce it either).

Maleakanhana State Recreation Area
Next, we happened upon a park and took a look around. There were a few people there including one strange couple with a couple of dogs who looked like they lived out of their car (no joke! it was packed to the ceiling).
