Fig & Olive – Newport Beach

Fig & Olive – Newport Beach

After our Fab day of shopping at Voilet Boutique in Laguna Beach where I got some even Fabber hats, Cathy, Mary & I stopped into the Fig & Olive at Fashion Island Newport Beach for lunch. I’ve frequented the one in Los Angeles many times and it’s lovely, but the one in Newport is absolutely beautiful. If you’ve never been there, the Fig & Olive is a Mediterranean food lovers dream!

Firstly, let’s start with our orders. The Burrata Heirloom Beet appetizer ($17.00) was filled with red apples, radicchio di Treviso, hazelnuts, and dill & tossed with a tart, yet sweet, apple cider dressing. Our other dish (that we shared) was the Fig & Olive Salad ($19). It was stuffed with Spanish Manchego cheese, Gorgonzola dolce, fresh figs & olives (of course), apples, tomatoes, scallions, & walnuts!! Honestly, I barely got down to the lettuce, the toppings were so bountiful. To add to the deliciousness of the food, I ordered a Cucumber Martini that was cold & crisp and divine!

Even though it was a gorgeous spring day they’d lit the fireplace in the atrium where we dined. It added that perfect touch to the afternoon. I’ll definitely be returning to add to this review as I want to taste more of the menu & visit the famous “Rogers Gardens” down the street from Fashion Island. Till then….
